Would you rather....

Buy a stroller that

1. Is larger, but folds semi-compactly and has sturdy wheels?

2. Is a little smaller and also folds semi-compactly but is a little lighter?

3. Folds most compactly, has 2 -handles instead of a bar, and is a little smaller then the large one?

Full size? Compact? Can we supersize that?

We are going with Graco because their Snugride carseats got great safety ratings.

The things that are important to me in a stroller are
1) Is it versatile? Will it work well for multiple stages of your child's development. ie can your infant seat fit in the stroller, are there different angles of recline? Are the straps easy to adjust?

2) Is it easy to fold? Just because it says it's one-handed doesn't mean in reality it is a one-handed folder!

3) When we just had the Saturn it was important to be able to fit it in the back of the car and still fit other things (not a prob with the van!)

the other thing I wish I had looked into is ease of access to the basket! On both our single and double stroller it is kind of hard to get to the basket (I have to crawl on the ground to get things out sometimes!)

I don't know if this will help i your decision, but good luck!

Am I too late? Given those choices (and an unlimited budget -- ha ha!) I'd choose number one. With an infant, being able to attach the car seat directly to the stroller without waking up said infant is AWESOME, and in my opinion, well worth the price of a stroller/car seat system. (Although, now looking a second time, it looks like options 2 and 3 also accommodate the car seat, they just don't come together. So ignore that first part.)

I'd opt for a single handle instead of two, because I guarantee you'll end up steering one-handed, and that could be tricky with stroller #3.

As for compactness, I'm with B. Make sure it fits easily into your trunk. If it's a hassle to get in and out you'll never want to bother with it. Other than that, I'd say weight is a bigger consideration than compactness because all three of these models are going to take up (almost) your whole trunk.

If space is at a premium for a particular occasion (say, a cross country trip), I'd suggest purchasing a lightweight umbrella stroller. They're usually under $20, and are small enough to leave lots of room for other stuff. But they are definitely not as easy to maneuver or load up with gear, and they don't seem as comfortable for baby.

So, in summary, I'd probably pick #2, but #1 looks like a good choice too if buying seat and stroller together is a better deal. Our set is very similar to #1 (but evenflo brand), and I use it almost every day. With a tiny baby, I prefer it to a cart for shopping because it's so much easier to maneuver than a cart with a car seat on top. And also, I can see over it. It has the added benefit of keeping my shopping trips relatively short, because I have to stop when the basket is full. (Just make sure you hit the candy aisle before you fill it up with everything else.)

OK. Enough. Happy shopping!
